@margie, verjuice is a sour juice obtained from crab apples, unripe grapes, or other fruit, used in cooking. This is a a very old ingredient known since Roman times. It is made from grapes - actually unfermented grape juice, and has a sharp flavour rather like a mellow white wine vinegar.
