I am registered dietitian originally from the Midwest. I have seen and experienced first hand that what you put in your body is what you get out and the difference good nutrition can make. My mission in life is to share this passion and teach others how to fuel their bodies in the best way possible. I received a bachelor’s of science degree in dietetics from the Ohio State University while working in the nutritional services department of an acute care facility and as a group fitness instructor. I completed my dietetic internship at Mount Carmel College of Nursing and then became a clinical dietitian at Florida Hospital Orlando, specializing in gastrointestinal disorders while establishing my own healthy living and weight loss practice, Nutrition Awareness. I started running my business full-time while living in Dallas, TX and have since relocated to The Woodlands (north of Houston) where I continue to expand my business and help my clients achieve total nutrition and fitness turnarounds. I write nutrition-related articles for several media outlets as well as give group presentations and lunch & learns to small businesses. I am a self-proclaimed foodie, wanna-be gardener and lover of all things outdoors. I’ve got one half marathon and one full marathon under my belt with no plans to start distance running again any time soon. I’ve been to 19 countries in the past 9 years and have dabbled in everything from catching piranhas on the Amazon River to taking foreign language classes in Spain to serving coffee in a small cafe in Melbourne, Australia. Last summer, I took 13 weeks off from running my business and worked in the Catskill Mountains of New York as a nutritionist and fitness coach for Shane Diet & Fitness Resort, where I taught a variety of fitness and nutrition classes, cooking demos, did a lot of hiking and unexpectedly gained a new appreciation for yoga.
