My name is Sandra Puente(Bridge in English). I'm from small down in the US. I have been lucky enough to travel and work different place in the world I love to travel, I love to live in foreign countries and I’m as comfortable with other nationalities as I am my own. I have found some common bridges with people of many cultures: first being the love of GOD, Family and country; within families is culture and FOOD. The best complement to me from a person from another country is a question of which restaurant did you buy this at? And I say I made it. And all suddenly they start quizzing you on the ingredients and techniques of the dish. (just to make sure you were the one that cooked the dish). Then they smile and say I can’t believe you made this dish by the looks of you. When I was first married, I bought Betty Crocker “International Cook Book” still one of my favorite cook books. My husband and I were both airman stationed in England. We were living from pay day to pay day and couldn’t afford to eat out . I would go through the book during the week and pick a dish and cook it for him on Friday nights, so hence was born our “Experimental Night” some of those dishes I made became stables in our home. My son when he was about 6 ask me one evening when I was preparing our dinner “Mom can we just have something plain like the other families?” I think he may have been embarrassed sometimes not being able to explain to our guest of children from the neighborhood that we collected at our table weekdays and weekend. Out of our regulars , from the dinner table back then one of them pursued a career in the culinary art and he says it’s because of his extra family opened up his world through food. I would like to share with you my collection of the recipes that is our families favorites and some of my new concoction that has been our bridge to the world through food. I’m looking forward to trying the recipes from you all on Tasty Query. The kitchen is the heart and soul of a home. Sandra
