I was leading a typical life of a Chartered Accountant in the investment banking profession with near impossible deadlines and long working hours. Then motherhood happened which made everything else seem like a breeze. I would only watch English channels on the television because they had subtitles and hence be on mute and not disturb my then three month old daughter. That is where I chanced upon Masterchef Australia and fell in love with my kitchen. I went from the girl who could only reheat food to baking aromatic bread and blogging about it. Today, I can confidently say that it is a lot easier to predict the rise of the sensex rather than the rise of my yeast bread. Cooking, baking and blogging have helped me through my many relocations, new places and environments. Everywhere I went I realized that the more things are different the more they are the same. I try to incorporate different local flavours in my day to day dishes testing the limits of what my three year old daughter and 'rigidly in love with South Indian cuisine' husband will eat.
