I am 64 yrs. old, retired and my disabled husband's caregiver. We have been married for almost 21 yrs. I never was much of a baker or paid a lot of attention to my food preparation previously; but after my husbands illness and subsequent disability, I found myself with more time on my hands and a desire to prepare more nutritious and more interesting dishes to engage his appetite. He suffers from a blood neoplasm that causes him intense pain in his stomach and intestines, so eating is problematic for him all too frequently. But when he is able to enjoy his food, he can really put it away with the best of them.
