I've been cooking and baking since I was 13, so I collect cookbooks and recipes of all kinds. If a cookbook has 3 recipes in it that I want to try, I'll get it. I've got cookbooks from all cultures, including Native American recipes for venison, rabbit, moose, frog legs, and other meats and vegetables. I don't have a favorite recipe or cookbook, but love Filipino, Greek, and Asian food. The first recipe I have was given to me over the phone by my mama, and has never been written down but has been passed to my daughters verbally. Over the years, it's been changed a little and improved by my daughters and me. I love baking from scratch as I can taste the difference between homemade and a box mix with canned frosting. My best friend, who is my ex-husband, says I'm a better cook and baker than his mother, may she rest in peace, and she was one hell of a cook.
